A horseshoe is a symbol of good luck. Often used at weddings but also found nailed on doors as a good luck ornament symbol, in pictures etc. The horseshoe must be upturned so that good luck collects inside and doesn’t fall out.

Inspiration for this project came from looking at Victorian scraps. Victorians loved their scrapbooks and I found some beautiful illustrations of decorated horseshoes. A horseshoe image makes a great template for decoration and in this project can be used on greetings cards or in pictures. One horseshoe or two interlinked, with a verse or on its own. Personalized or left open, simple or complex, the choice and imagination are all yours.
