In this class we will learn the authors method of imitating a graphical style artwork. Therefore, we will set aside our traditional techniques of imitating a painting.
We will form the volume of objects with shadows, formed by engraving – in light touches or strokes. They are composed by first, scratching the surface, then adding mostly whole (unbroken) plant material onto the upper layer. There is no need to cut or crush the material into very small pieces. We want to give it a natural, recognizable form that creates an unusual piece with three different layers seen simultaneously in the work. I call my method “Floral Graphics”.
