In 2018, I created the picture that inspired this class. I named it “Autumn in the Park” and I was honored that it earned first place at an art competition among creations in several media. It was also juried and selected to be part of an art calendar fundraiser for arts in Madison, Wisconsin. The original was sold many years ago, but a print was selected as part of the Masters collection gallery at the latest WWPFG conference in China in 2025. I’ve included below some images of these events.
 
For this class, I tried to adapt and improve the original picture, so everyone can learn and create an award winning one. That is why the name is “Autumn in the Park 2”. With small changes in the materials used, this can also be a spring or summer picture.
 
You will learn easy ways to create components that can be part of any future pictures: 
Realistic looking trees made out of birch bark, leaves left outside during winter and banana peels
Principles of making tree branches 
Tree shadows 
Sun rays
 
You will also learn to work with blitzed plant materials in several ways, in order to obtain various effects. Due to the particular nature of these materials, by learning to manipulate them, you can use them not only in landscapes but also in smaller projects — from cards to nightlights. 
 
If you are not familiar, you will learn to use double sided tape instead of glue for most needs.
